Stride Recruitment is actively recruiting an ongoing or temp-to-perm HGV 2 Collections Driver to work out of our client’s Environmental depot located in Suffolk, IP14 5AT. Rates start at £16.59 and overtime at £24.89 per hour over 37.5 hours, with immediate induction available.

Core Details

  • Shift: 6:00 am to 3:30 pm daily, Monday through Friday.
  • Overtime: 1.5× rate over 37.5 hours or 7.5 hours across a 5-day week; Sunday and Bank Holiday double time.
  • Contract: Ongoing with weekly PAYE payment and opportunity for permanent employment after six months.

Core Duties

  • Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, applying all required machinery skills and knowledge.
  • Undertake all duties professionally, using safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to the items being removed.
  • Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
  • Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
  • Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
  • Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users.

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points).
  • Driver CPC.
  • Willingness to assist refuse loaders during rounds to help the team meet the service level agreement.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Willingness to undertake additional tasks.
  • Clean driving licence desirable for all staff.
