Stride Recruitment are actively recruiting an ongoing or temp to perm HGV 2 Collections Driver to work out of our clients Environmental depot based in Suffolk, IP14 5AT with rates starting at £16.59 and £24.89 overtime over 37.5 hours with Inductions being held immediately.

Core details:

  • 6am to 3.30pm daily, immediate induction availability and start dates.
  • Monday – Friday, overtime rate of 1.5x rate over 37.5 hours or 7.5 hours across a 5 day week. Sunday and Bank Holidays paid at double time.
  • Ongoing contract, weekly paye pay with opportunities for permanent employment after 6-months.

Core duties:

  • Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job.
  • Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal.
  • Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
  • Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
  • Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
  • Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users.

What you will need:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points).
  • Driver CPC.
  • Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Willingness to undertake tasks.
  • Clean drivers licence desirable for all staff.
