Stride Recruitment are urgently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer, a Fabric Engineer and a Plumber to be based on-site at Harplands Hospital, Hilton Road, Stoke-On-Trent covering PPM's and Reactive Maintenance, on a Long Term contract on behalf of our global public sector contractor client's on-site Facility Management team.
Core Requirements:
- You will be required to carry out PPM and reactive maintenance tasks of your trade in the building facilities and building services across the hospital, either working alone or with internal colleagues.
Main Accountabilities:
- To service and maintain building services, facilities and equipment in accordance with relevant standards, frequencies, and safe working practices.
- To respond to reactive breakdowns, carry out fault finding and any necessary repairs.
- Carry out scheduled planned preventative maintenance tasks.
- To have a ‘can do’ approach to your work ethos.
- Be able to work within a small maintenance team, consisting of shift engineers and semi-skilled shift engineers (plus a full day team of support staff).
What you will need for the role:
- Good all round technical ability and a working knowledge of a wide variety of your commercial trade required, knowledge of building maintenance preferred, but not essential.
- Must be NVQ 2 + Qualified or Time-Served in your trade.
- Previous Plumbing, Mechanical or Fabric / Multi-Tradesmen Commercial PPM experience required.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- The ability to multi-task and be methodical.
- A pro-active approach to problem solving.
- Overtime available (shift covers and shut down work, as well as additional remedial works).
