Overview
Stride Recruitment are activley recruiting a ongoing HGV Refuse Collection Driver to use in-cab technology carrying out refuse and recycling collections on pre-planned daily out of our client\’s depot based at Fairbridge Way, Burgess Hill, RH16 1UA with rates of £15.74 and time and a half overtime.
Inductions Friday 10th October 2025 at 8am.
Working Hours
- 6am to 3.00pm, Monday – Friday
- No overtime or weekend work – This is available if candidate prefers
Job spec
- Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
- Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
- Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
- Complete relevant paperwork in real time
- Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
- Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
- Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users
What you\’ll need to succeed
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
- Driver CPC
- Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated
- Willingness to undertake tasks
- Clean drivers licence desirable for all staff
