Stride Recruitment are actively recruiting an ongoing HGV Refuse Collections Driver to work out of our clients depot based in Watton, IP25 6JB with starting rates of £17.25 and £25.87 overtime. There are inductions being held ASAP.

Core details:

  • 6am to 3 / 3.30pm daily
  • Monday - Friday
  • Average basic is £38k/£42k per annum before overtime or progression
  • Ongoing contract with weekly pay and opportunities for permanent employment

Core duties:

  • Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
  • Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
  • Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
  • Complete relevant paperwork in real time
  • Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
  • Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles
  • Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users

What you will need:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
  • Driver CPC
  • Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Willingness to undertake tasks
  • Clean drivers licence desirable for all staff
