Stride Recruitment are urgently recruiting a Document Controller responsible for managing, filing, and distributing all project-related documentation which is a crucial role to ensure all project teams—including engineers, architects, and managers—have access to the most accurate and up-to-date information working for a main contractor specialising in residential and commercial construction across the UK, based in London.\\n\\nWhat's on offer:\\n\\n * £30,000 – £40,000 (junior/administrative role; many support roles fall in this lower range) — broad estimate, depending on responsibility & seniority\\n\\n * Hybrid working with flexible working approach\\n\\n * Career advancement: The company provides opportunities for advancement, with some roles seen as a "rare opportunity due to low staff turnover," suggesting career progression paths.\\n\\n * Impactful projects: You can contribute to meaningful projects in the civil engineering and water sectors, which are often large-scale and impactful.\\n\\n * Diverse projects: Depending on the specific role, you may work on a variety of projects, such as a recent £14 million lab for a university.\\n\\nKey responsibilities:\\n\\n * Controlling documents: You would manage all company and project documents, such as drawings, contracts, specifications, and reports, ensuring they are correctly numbered, filed, and stored.\\n\\n * Version control: A key task is maintaining an accurate record of document revisions. You would ensure that everyone is working from the latest version to prevent costly errors and rework.\\n\\n * Digital systems: You would be responsible for entering and tracking document data within electronic document management systems (EDMS) like Aconex, 4Projects, or other systems specified.\\n\\n * Physical records: For documents like large-scale blueprints that may not be digitized, you would also manage the physical filing and storage.\\n\\nAcademic qualifications:\\n\\n * Previous document control experience: Experience in a document control or administrative role, preferably within the construction or engineering sector, is often a requirement.\\n\\n * Document management systems (EDMS): Familiarity with document control software is essential.
