Stride Recruitment are urgently recruiting a Building Fabric Technician / Carpenter to cover PPM's and Reactive Maintenance tasks based at Great Western Hospital, Swindon, SN3 6BB on an on-going contract basis.
Type of work: Ongoing Building Fabric Technician / Carpenter contract vacancy.
Location: Great Western Hospital, Swindon, SN3 6BB.
Rates: From £15 to £16 per hour / 37.5 hour weeks, 8am - 4.30pm - Monday to Friday. 1.5x rate after 37.5 hours and double time on Sundays & Bank Holidays.
Start: Immediate interviews & start dates available. PAYE OR CIS. On-site parking.
- Working within a team and independently when required
- Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary
- Repair fire-rated doors in accordance with fire regulations, safety regulations and manufacture guidelines
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, including fire ratings, smoke sealing and door clearances
- Install and maintain fire rated door hardware, including locks, hinges, and closers
- Working hours Monday – Friday 08:00-16:30
Essential skills, knowledge and qualifications:
- NVQ 2 Carpentry OR TIME SERVED (Required)
- BM Trada Trained (Desired)
- All aspects of fire door inspection and maintenance (Desired)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Health & Safety awareness and safe working
The role is offering long term security as well as being easily accessible via public transport and having on site parking. Previous experience working in a healthcare setting would be preferred but not essential.
