A leading construction and development group is seeking a highly experienced Group Surveying Manager to join its commercial team. This is a confidential opportunity for a senior professional to make a real impact by driving consistency, improving commercial practices, and supporting regional teams across multiple business units. The role offers flexibility in base location, but regular travel across regional offices and project sites (West regions to South Midlands) is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent commercial assurance through in-depth cost reviews (CVRs)
  • Attend regional project meetings to support and challenge commercial performance
  • Guide and train new commercial team members during onboarding
  • Ensure consistent use of commercial systems and processes across regions
  • Identify risks, inefficiencies, or non-compliance in live and legacy projects
  • Support system integration and improvements (e.g., COINS)
  • Assist with internal audits and quarterly reviews
  • Share best practices and support communication between regional and central teams

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Degree or HNC in Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
  • Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing QS, or Commercial Manager
  • Strong background in residential construction or housebuilding
  • Excellent understanding of commercial processes, cost control, and regulations
  • Hands-on approach with strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working across multiple regions and sites
  • COINS system knowledge (preferred but not essential)
  • Professional membership (RICS, CIOB) desirable but not required
