We’re looking for a Safety and Compliance Officer (Mechanical & Electrical) to join our Building Safety Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a safety and compliance specialist with experience in the mechanical and electrical sector to play a key role in ensuring building safety standards are met and exceeded.
You’ll be based at either our Basingstoke or Hurn office, with the flexibility to combine office and home working to maintain a positive work/life balance.
In this role, you’ll support the Safety and Compliance Specialist and wider Building Safety Compliance Team across electrical, gas, oil, and solid fuel safety matters. You’ll help ensure that all remedial actions are identified, recorded, actioned, and closed in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and timely outcomes for customers.
- Promote a positive, collaborative culture of building safety compliance.
- Escalate safety concerns to the relevant team members for investigation.
- Act as a subject matter expert in building safety and compliance, supporting the development of policies, standards, and data requirements.
- Keep up to date with legislation and recommend actions based on regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of electrical and/or gas, oil, and solid fuel management within the housing sector.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation in these areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work to deadlines and achieve targets.
- Qualifications (one or more of the following):
- Electrical: Level 3 Award in the Requirements of Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2008); City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent test and inspection)
- Gas: City & Guilds Certificate in Gas Service and/or NVQ Level 3 Gas Service and Maintenance
