Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and client-focused Commercial Account Handler to join a growing UK insurance broker. You will manage the day-to-day servicing of a portfolio of commercial clients, working closely with Account Executives, insurers and underwriters to secure suitable cover, competitive terms and excellent client outcomes.

The role

  • Manage a portfolio of SME, mid-market and/or corporate commercial clients.
  • Handle renewals from initial review through to placement, documentation and invoicing.
  • Process mid-term adjustments, policy changes, new-business enquiries and general client queries.
  • Obtain, negotiate and compare terms from insurer markets.
  • Review client information and insurance requirements to help ensure cover remains suitable.
  • Prepare renewal reports, quotations, policy documentation, certificates, schedules and endorsements.
  • Liaise confidently with clients, insurers, underwriters and Account Executives.
  • Support Account Executives with renewal strategy, client retention and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Assist clients with claims notifications and provide ongoing claims support where required.
  • Maintain accurate records on the broking system and ensure activity is completed within agreed service standards.

The Candidate

  • Previous commercial broking or insurance account-handling experience.
  • Sound knowledge of core commercial covers, including Property, Liability, Commercial Combined, Motor Fleet policies.
  • Comfortable managing renewals, MTAs and client servicing work from start to finish.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build credibility with clients and insurer partners.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to spot retention, cross-sell and new-business opportunities.
  • Experience using broker management systems and insurer portals.
  • Cert CII achieved or a willingness to work towards it would be advantageous.

The Reward
