You do not need to be a Science & Technology specialist today. The business is specifically open to experienced Corporate Account Handlers who have the right core skills and want to develop into the sector with proper training and support.

The opportunity

You will join an established specialist team that works with clients across the Science & Technology space, combining day-to-day client servicing with the broader technical and commercial judgement needed on more complex corporate accounts.

The role is designed to give you genuine sector development rather than simply a different client list. You will learn the specific risks, insurance issues and market considerations that sit behind technology and science-led businesses, while continuing to build on your existing commercial insurance knowledge.

The team itself is spread across the South East, so the role can be shaped with a good degree of flexibility around location and office attendance.

What the role looks like

• Working closely with Client Executives to manage the day-to-day servicing of corporate client accounts.
• Applying your commercial insurance knowledge across renewals, mid-term changes and wider client queries.
• Working with insurers on negotiations and acting as a key point of contact through the broking process.
• Supporting the full end-to-end client journey, from renewal preparation through to placement, invoicing and ongoing servicing.
• Building strong working relationships with internal colleagues and specialist teams.
• Identifying wider client needs and introducing relevant products or services where appropriate.
• Maintaining high standards around data quality, process and regulatory requirements.
• Continuing your own technical development, including building specialist knowledge in Science & Technology.

Who this could suit

You will already have commercial insurance experience and ideally some exposure to larger or more complex corporate accounts.

You may currently be working as a Corporate Account Handler, Client Adviser, Senior Account Handler or in a similar commercial broking role.

The strongest fit will be somebody who is technically capable, organised and confident dealing with both clients and insurers, while also being interested in building specialist knowledge over time.

You do not need previous Science & Technology experience. The business is specifically prepared to provide training and development in this area, so the key requirement is a solid grounding in commercial broking and the ability to learn.

Cert CII, or progress towards it, will be useful, and experience with Acturis will be an advantage.
