Overview
As a Senior Underwriter, you will underwrite Commercial Combined risks, focusing on renewals, mid-term adjustments, and selected new business. You will cultivate broker relationships across the South Region and negotiate for profitable growth. You’ll own larger, complex cases and act as a technical reference to support colleagues. This role aligns with a global insurer’s ambition to deliver excellent service and strong underwriting outcomes. A proactive, commercially minded leader shapes our underwriting team in Bristol.

- Underwrite Commercial Combined risks, primarily renewals and mid-term adjustments, plus selective new business opportunities
- Develop and manage broker relationships across the South Region
- Negotiate and trade to support profitable growth
- Take ownership of larger and more complex underwriting cases
- Act as a technical referral point and support the development of colleagues
Key requirements
- Experience underwriting and trading Commercial Combined business
- Strong broker relationships and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of the regional broker market and commercial insurance sector
- Sound underwriting judgement and technical expertise
