If you are already handling complex third party (Products and Public Liability) losses and want the backing of a respected name without the noise that can come with bigger corporates, this is worth a look. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Product Liability Adjuster who wants quality work, genuine autonomy and a business with real credibility in the market.
Depending on the individual, this will be a remote role, attaching to one of the company’s offices if need be, and meeting centrally once a month.
The opportunity
You will take on complex Product Liability and Product Recall caseload, working with broker and insurer relationships that are already in place. This is not about starting from scratch. It is a role for someone who enjoys being trusted to deal with complex cases properly, manage key relationships well and make sound decisions without unnecessary layers getting in the way.
You will be joining a business with a strong reputation in the managing of complex claims, an established UK (and global) presence and the infrastructure to support major loss work properly.
What the role looks like
- You will handle major and complex Product Liability losses from initial notification through to settlement, acting as the technical lead on your own claims.
- You will also be involved in Product Recall cases – the level of involvement dependent upon your experience.
- You will be visible in the market, confident with clients and brokers, and comfortable taking ownership of the claim strategy from day one.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of major and complex Product Liability and Product Recall claims across the UK.
- Investigate liability thoroughly and produce clear, well-reasoned reports.
- Review policy cover, establish quantum and drive claims to conclusion.
- Appoint and manage experts, legal services and other specialists as needed.
- Agree interim payments and final settlements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, policyholders and all necessary stakeholders – internal and external.
- Deliver a high technical standard while keeping service and communication sharp.
Who this could suit
- An experienced Product Liability adjuster looking to expand their horizons.
- It may also suit an individual with extensive experience of complex EL / PL claims, who wishes to specialise in Products Liability.
- Someone confident handling larger, more technical claims with minimal supervision.
- ACII or LLB qualified or working towards it would be useful.
- A relationship-led adjuster who can combine technical strength with good judgement.
- Someone who wants a serious role in a business where adjusting still matters.
The business
You would be joining an established loss adjusting firm with an excellent reputation in commercial liability, property and specialist claims. Well regarded in the market, financially secure and backed by a wider claims group, it offers the credibility, support and platform that good adjusters look for, while still giving people room to get on with the job.
Package and benefits
- Up to £75,000 basic salary.
- Company car or car allowance.
- Annual bonus.
- Strong overall package.
- Backing of a reputable commercial and corporate adjusting business.
- UK wide responsibility with a genuine long-term opportunity.
The Next Step
For the right person, this could be a very good move. Low-risk, high-quality and well worth a confidential conversation if you want to handle better work in a business with real standing.
