Job Description
COMMERCIAL UNDERWRITER
HYBRID – WEST MIDLANDS
We are working with a highly successful and innovative MGA business with a long track record of exceptional growth and creative product development. In order to continue this success they are looking for experienced Commercial Underwriters to join the business in the exciting role of Portfolio Underwriters.
This is a very unique role and tremendously exciting role and one that would suit someone who is looking for more than simply transactional underwriting. Giving you greater control and responsibility for account performance.
As a Portfolio Underwriter you will:
- Drive the performance and profitability of your own product and scheme portfolios.
- Be an integral part of new and exciting projects to develop and enhance scheme propositions to the market.
- Use data driven insights to monitor performance, identify trends and make recommend adjustments to underwriting strategy, risk selection and pricing.
- Set clear and concise strategies for our regional underwriting units and be involved in developing and supporting their implementation.
- Utilise your market knowledge, extensive network and technical expertise to support the business with their ongoing growth and development strategy.
As a Portfolio Underwriter you will have:
- Strong technical skills in Commercial Insurance Underwriting across mainly Property & Casualty lines of business with a good understanding of pricing.
- Experience of managing portfolio risk selection, MI analysis, Underwriting rules management and product development.
- An demonstratable ability to interpret and leverage data to drive strategic decisions.
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent knowledge of underwriting principles, risk selection and portfolio management.
- Knowledge and experience of MI tools and data visualisation platforms an advantage.
As a Portfolio Underwriter you will receive:
