You are already trusted with major corporate clients, you understand how to navigate complex insurance programmes, and you are ready for a role that puts you closer to leadership, strategy and the direction of a regional business.
This is the chance to move beyond simply owning a portfolio. You will step into a senior position where your judgement carries weight, your leadership shapes the performance of an experienced team, and your client work sits at the more sophisticated end of the commercial market.
The opportunity
- This is a senior leadership role within a major insurance broking business, combining responsibility for an experienced Client Executive team with continued exposure to significant corporate relationships.
- The client base sits firmly in the larger and more complex end of the market, so the work involves sophisticated programmes, demanding stakeholders and businesses that expect genuine advice rather than transactional broking.
- There is real scope to influence how the team operates, how key relationships are developed and how the regional business grows, giving the role considerably more breadth than a traditional Client Director position.
- The successful person will have the freedom to bring their own leadership style, raise standards across the team and create an environment where experienced Executives can perform at their best.
- This is also a role with headroom. The position already sits at a senior level, but the wider platform gives ambitious people the chance to move further into regional or broader leadership over time.
What the role looks like
- Leading and developing a team of experienced Client Executives who manage significant corporate relationships.
- Providing direction across key accounts and helping the team think more strategically about retention, programme design, client development and long-term relationship value.
- Remaining close to important clients where senior involvement adds value, particularly around more complex renewals, difficult negotiations or wider risk conversations.
- Working with specialist broking, placement and technical teams to bring the right expertise into major client relationships.
- Helping experienced Executives develop commercially, strengthening both the quality of client advice and the way opportunities are identified across existing relationships.
- Creating consistency across the team without removing the autonomy that good Client Executives need to manage senior clients properly.
- Contributing to the wider direction of the regional business and helping shape where future growth comes from.
Who this could suit
- You are already operating successfully with larger commercial or corporate clients and are comfortable dealing with senior decision-makers.
- You may currently be a Senior Client Executive, Client Director, Corporate Account Director or an established team leader who wants a broader and more influential remit.
- Your background will include complex corporate insurance rather than purely SME or lower mid-market business, with enough technical depth to challenge programme structure and placement strategy when required.
- You will have strong commercial instincts and understand that the best client relationships grow because of the quality of advice, not because somebody forces additional products into them.
- Leadership experience will be valuable, but so will evidence that people already look to you for direction, judgement and support. This role needs somebody capable of leading experienced professionals rather than simply allocating work.
The business
- You will be joining one of the most substantial insurance broking and risk advisory businesses in the market, with deep capability across corporate insurance, specialist risk and international placements.
- The scale matters because it gives Client Executives access to specialist expertise when a relationship becomes more complicated, rather than forcing one individual to carry every technical conversation themselves.
- The regional corporate operation is established, credible and handling genuinely significant clients, so this is not a leadership title attached to a small portfolio or junior team.
- The wider organisation also creates genuine career options for people who perform well, whether that means broader people leadership, larger strategic responsibilities or moving further into regional management.
Package and working pattern
- Base salary is available up to around Β£90,000 to Β£100,000 depending on experience.
- The role operates on a hybrid basis, with three days spent in the office or with clients and two days working from home.
- The position is based in the South West, with regular access to a major regional office.
- The role combines senior people leadership, significant corporate client exposure and genuine scope for further progression.
The next step
- At this level, you will want to understand the quality of the team, the scale of the client relationships, how much authority genuinely comes with the role and where it can lead.
- We can talk you through that confidentially, including the team structure, the level of client responsibility and the wider leadership opportunity, before you decide whether it is worth taking the conversation any further.
