We're working with a highly respected independent insurance broker in Kent who are looking to recruit an experienced Development Executive to support the continued growth of their commercial client base. This role is ideal for a proven insurance sales professional who enjoys winning new business, building long‑term client relationships, and working with a supportive broking and technical team.
The Role
As a Development Executive, you'll be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new commercial clients across a range of sectors. You'll work closely with internal account handling and broking teams to deliver tailored insurance solutions and convert opportunities into long‑term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Winning new commercial insurance business across SME and mid‑market clients
- Building and managing a strong pipeline of prospective clients
- Conducting client meetings to understand risk and present solutions
- Working collaboratively with broking teams to place and service business
- Developing introducer and referral relationships within the local market
- Managing accounts through initial onboarding and renewal handover
- Maintaining accurate activity records and reporting
About You
- Proven experience in commercial insurance sales or development
- Strong technical understanding of commercial insurance products
- Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Self‑motivated, organised, and commercially focused
- Cert CII qualified or working towards
- Acturis or similar system experience advantageous
