If you are an Account Executive who wants more responsibility, a live portfolio to work with and the chance to lead people as well as client relationships, this is the sort of role that can move your career on properly. It will suit someone who is comfortable in front of clients, confident managing a book and ready to take on a broader position within a commercial team.

You will be inheriting a small book of business, so there is a foundation in place from the outset. That gives you the opportunity to focus on building relationships, developing existing accounts and creating measured growth, while also taking ownership of a team of Account Handlers and helping to set the standard around service, responsiveness and day-to-day delivery.

This is an Exeter-based Account Executive role with real breadth to it. The appeal will be obvious to someone who wants more than a straightforward client-facing brief. Alongside managing and developing your own portfolio, you will also be leading a team of Account Handlers, which means this role offers a blend of client work, leadership and commercial responsibility. It is well suited to someone who enjoys being visible, making decisions and helping to shape the way business is handled internally as well as externally.

Responsibilities
  • Taking ownership of an inherited small book of commercial insurance clients
  • Managing renewals, client strategy and relationship development across the portfolio
  • Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and win additional business
  • Leading and supporting a team of Account Handlers on day-to-day client servicing
  • Overseeing workflow, service standards and the quality of client delivery within the team
  • Working closely with insurers and internal colleagues to secure the right outcomes for clients
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for clients and helping resolve more complex cases when needed
  • Contributing to the wider development of the team and the office
Who this could suit
  • An established Account Executive who wants broader responsibility and some leadership exposure
  • A client-facing insurance professional with management capability who is ready for a bigger role
  • Someone who enjoys developing people as much as developing accounts
  • An individual who wants the reassurance of an inherited book while still having scope to grow
  • A commercial insurance professional who is credible with clients and steady in how they lead others
The business

You would be joining a business that values strong client relationships, dependable service and experienced people who can take ownership. The environment will suit someone who wants to be trusted, wants room to influence and wants a role with genuine substance rather than a narrow remit.

Package and benefits
  • Exeter-based role
  • Inherited small book of business
  • Leadership responsibility for a team of Account Handlers
  • Established commercial platform with scope to grow
  • Long-term opportunity for someone who wants a broader Account Executive position

If you would be open to a confidential conversation, I would be happy to talk you through the details properly. For the right person, this offers a good balance of portfolio ownership, team leadership and long-term potential.
