1st & 2nd Fix Carpenters Required – Downham Market

Location: Downham Market, Norfolk

Rate: Negotiable (dependent on experience and skill level)

Duration: Long-term project (approx. 18 months)

Start Date: Immediate starts available

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Saturdays: 8:00am – 1:00pm (optional/overtime where applicable)

About the Role

Stridden Limited are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable carpentry contractor. We are seeking experienced 1st and 2nd Fix Carpenters to join a busy residential development project in Downham Market. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term, consistent work on a fast-paced site delivering high-quality builds, including 2–4 bedroom houses and apartment blocks. The ideal candidates will take pride in their workmanship and be able to meet high standards within set deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out all aspects of 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
  • Working on new-build residential properties (houses and apartments)
  • Installing structural elements, door frames, skirting, architraves, kitchens, and finishing work
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Working efficiently to meet project timelines without compromising quality

Requirements

  • Valid Blue CSCS Card (Carpentry & Joinery)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
  • Own full set of hand and power tools
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks
  • Reliable transport or ability to commute to site consistently
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be able to provide a CV for client review
  • Two recent work references required upon application
