Stridden Limited are recruiting for an established Civils & Groundworks Contractor who are currently looking for a SHEQ / Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. Our client will consider Mid to Senior Level SHEQ / Health & Safety Advisors for this role. Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and driving a culture of continuous improvement? We’re recruiting a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Adviser for our client that specialises in the Civils & Groundworks Sector. In this pivotal role, you’ll support health and safety across all areas of our business — on commercial, large residential and RC Frames projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting departments in developing and maintaining Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Leading accident and incident investigations, carrying out root cause analysis, and implementing effective action plans.
  • Conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture through toolbox talks, training, and active collaboration with the H&S committee.
  • Providing expert advice on COSHH, PPE, and other key safety areas.
  • Supporting contractor control, reviewing RAMS, and ensuring completion of statutory inspections.
  • Office and site based throughout London, Home Counties, and the Midlands.

What We’re Looking For

  • NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Auditing qualification – desirable.
  • Proven experience within a Groundworks & Civils.
  • Strong working knowledge of H&S regulations.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
