Job Description
Stridden Limited are recruiting on behalf of an established Groundworks & Civil Engineering Contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Northampton.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected contractor delivering residential and commercial groundworks projects across Northampton and the surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will be office-based, with regular visits to live sites as required.
- Key Duties
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple groundworks projects from inception through to final account.
- Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts.
- Preparing cost plans, forecasts and budgets.
- Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations.
- Monitoring project costs and reporting on financial performance.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and clients to ensure projects remain commercially successful.
- Producing accurate cost reports and ensuring financial targets are achieved.
- Managing contractual documentation and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Groundworks or Civil Engineering is essential.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial groundworks packages.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC in Quantity Surveying
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

- £50,000 salary (negotiable depending on experience).
