Trustees – Groundwork Northern Ireland Open
*Closes 19th December*
Groundwork Northern Ireland, part of the Federation of Groundwork Trusts, is an environmentally focused charity that support local communities and businesses to build capacity and resilience to tackle hardship, achieve a just transition to net‑zero and help nature recover in a way that reduces inequality and leads to better work and healthier, happier lives.
Our trustees bring energy and enthusiasm to our Board and contribute to the diversity of experience and thinking at board level. Previous trustee experience is not essential, just the ability to attend meetings in person and on occasion virtually. Full induction, training and support will be provided from the outset. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with other trustees will be crucial.
We really need your help and expertise, so if you are keen to make a difference for communities and the environment in Northern Ireland and have skills in in any of the following – Community Development, Health & Well‑being, Finance, Legal, IT and Digital, Marketing or HR, then we would love to hear from you.
- Community Development: Understanding of Community issues or lived experience, stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
- Health & Well‑being: Experience in health, social care, public health, or mental health.
- Finance: Financial management, reporting, budgeting and compliance with financial regulations.
- Legal: Knowledge of charity law and other relevant legislation.
- IT & Digital: Practical knowledge of IT service provision, digital technology, data protection/GDPR and cybersecurity.
- HR: Experience in employment law, HR Policies and workforce development.
- Marketing: Professional experience in marketing and communications, including brand development, campaign management, and digital marketing.
Commitments – Trustees attend up to four board meetings a year and are invited to join one of the organisation’s sub‑committees which also meet four times a year.
