Advice Space has its 60th anniversary this year and as a charity we are governed by a Board of Trustees who possess various key skills necessary to help guide and drive us forward. Together, we are now agreeing our next 5-year Strategic Plans, so it is an exciting time for Advice Space! Previously known under the Citizens Advice umbrella brand we are proud that in the last 2 years Advice Space has:

  • Secured £2.3 million of incoming funding to enable our service provision
  • Assisted 60,055 people
  • Dealt with 183,555 different problems for those people
  • Helped get over £17.5 million back in unclaimed benefit entitlements.

The Trustee Board is responsible for the strategic direction of Advice Space and ensuring good governance. Each year from Sept. 2024/25 we aim to hold 4-6 Board meetings (Usually 5pm to 6.30pm or 7.00pm on a Tuesday). These may alternate between online and in-person and although we have an AGM annually and review Board membership regularly a full term of office would normally be for up to 3 years (which can be renewed for a further term). The position is voluntary though any out-of-pocket expenses such as travel for a meeting/event can be claimed and paid.

At the minute we are seeking to attract new Trustees as part of our growth plan and need experience particularly in the following skill set areas (though this list isn’t limited):

  • IT knowledge & skills.
  • Human Resources knowledge and experience in N.I.

If you feel you want to and have some tie to contribute and would like to be part of a growing advice charity that seeks to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need and helping the most vulnerable, then do please GO HERE to find out more and take things forward.
