Advice Space is a charity that provides free and independent information and advice to help people resolve their problems, including benefits, debt, employment, housing and more. Formerly Citizens Advice Belfast, we have been providing a high-quality service in Northern Ireland for just over 60 years, supporting clients and speaking up for them where we can. We also work with lots of other charities developing and delivering advice to their service users.
Advice Space is a member of Advice NI which means we have access to the services, resources and support but as an independent charity, we are responsible for running our own affairs within agreed standards. We have agreed our new Strategic Plan for the period 2024-29 and a new annual business planning framework to support its delivery that is monitored and reviewed by the Trustee Board.
As our current Chair ends a term of office, we are looking for a new Chair to lead our Board of Trustees to ensure that the trustee board provides long term strategic management of the organisation. We welcome applications from all sections of the community to enable us to have a diverse Trustee Board that reflects our clients and communities.
We are looking for people with a wide variety of skills and a diversity of background and experiences. Experience of working within the voluntary/charity sector and 3 years previous board experience is required. The post of trustee is a voluntary one, but all reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
The role will provide you with a great deal of experience and satisfaction, the opportunity to develop your skills and utilise your expertise and knowledge and the opportunity to be part of a great charity working to make a positive impact to people’s lives.
