Are you an experienced Legal PA looking for a new challenge in a traditional environment? A boutique law firm located in the West End is currently seeking a skilled and personable Legal Secretary/Assistant to support a small but close-knit private client team. The Partner you will be supporting is charming and an absolute delight to work for.
About the Role:
This is a rare and unique opportunity to work in a firm with a traditional, hands-on approach to legal services. You will primarily be supporting a Partner who specialises in probate matters, with occasional support to other Partners and an Assistant. The firm still values traditional practices, such as paper filing, and you’ll have the chance to work closely with an experienced, well-respected team.
The firm is looking for someone with the following qualities:
- Experienced Legal PA: Ideally, you will have prior experience in private client law or corporate law (someone with a corporate background who’s interested in trying something different could be a great fit). The successful candidate should be someone who thrives in a small, friendly environment and is looking for long-term career stability.
- Team Player: You will be working with a small team of seven secretaries, all experienced and seated in the same room. The role would be ideal for someone looking to stay with the firm long-term, as one of the Partners is planning to retire in the next five years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Work: A significant portion of the role involves preparing and drafting legal documents.
- Billing: Handling some billing responsibilities.
- Diary Assistance: The Partner uses a paper diary, and you may occasionally need to add items to an electronic calendar.
- General Administration: Assisting with various administrative tasks to support the team.
About the Firm:
This small, boutique law firm is known for its traditional approach to legal practice, offering a welcoming and supportive working environment. The team is made up of experienced professionals who take pride in offering exceptional service to their clients. While the firm is traditional in many ways, you’ll find the people to be friendly, warm, and keen to help you succeed.
Key Requirements:
- Experience as a Legal PA (particularly in private client, probate, or corporate law).
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to work with a paper-based filing system.
- Familiarity with iManage and BigHand dictation is a plus.
- A friendly, personable approach - you’ll be working closely with the team and clients.
- A long-term commitment to the firm, as the role is suited to someone who wants stability in their career.
Additional Information:
The office is located in a five-story building, and there is no lift available, so please consider this before applying. The firm prides itself on its close-knit team atmosphere and high levels of client care.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a traditional working environment with the chance to grow and stay long-term with a highly regarded firm. If this sounds like the role for you, please express your interest, and I’ll be happy to have a chat before proceeding.
