Looking to build your career in Business Development and Bids? We're recruiting for a Bid Assistant to join the Business Development team of a well-established, full-service UK law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in bids, marketing or business development who enjoys working to deadlines, collaborating with stakeholders, and producing high-quality work. You'll work closely with the Bid Manager and colleagues across the firm to support the delivery of successful tenders and proposals, helping to win new business and strengthen client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and circulate relevant tender opportunities across the business.
- Manage bid deliverables and deadlines, ensuring submissions stay on track.
- Prepare and submit tenders through online procurement portals.
- Maintain tender logs and bid trackers.
- Draft non-technical bid responses using existing content and collateral.
- Coordinate input from partners, legal teams and business support functions.
- Support compliance checks and contract review processes.
- Gather and record bid feedback, including win/loss analysis.
- Maintain and develop the firm's bid content library and precedent database.
- Source and manage previous tender submissions to support future bids.
About You
You'll be highly organised, proactive and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll have excellent attention to detail and enjoy producing work to a consistently high standard. We're looking for someone with:
- Ideally 1-2 years' bid coordination or bid support experience.
- Experience working within a Marketing and/or Business Development team, preferably in professional services.
- Bid writing experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A desire to improve processes and embrace best practice.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English, with a relevant degree or equivalent experience being advantageous.
