In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, from designing grassroots sports facilities to creating world-class competition venues across all sporting sectors. As a Sports Design Technician, you will work closely with our team of experienced designers and project leads to deliver high-quality, innovative design solutions that meet our clients’ needs. You will be responsible for conceptualising and developing design ideas, creating detailed drawing packages and visuals.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field; however, candidates with equivalent practical experience in design and sports facility projects are also encouraged to apply. You should bring strong technical and creative design skills, along with proven proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are essential, as is the ability to contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Designing and developing sports facilities at all levels, from grassroots to professional.
- Creating detailed drawing packages, plans, sections, and visuals.
- Coordinating with project leads, engineers, and external consultants to meet client and design requirements.
- Supporting BIM workflows, including file coordination and model sharing through Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Taking responsibility for delivering accurate design outputs to agreed deadlines.
- Staying informed on industry trends and best practices in sports facility design.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, or a related discipline (preferably with a focus on sports design).
- Minimum 1–2 years hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit in a professional setting.
- Minimum 1–2 years experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for design collaboration, model coordination, or document control.
- Strong technical design skills with the ability to develop and communicate creative solutions.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities, comfortable working within interdisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and effective time management, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for sports and an interest in designing facilities for grassroots sports all the way to elite level.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and 3DS Max.
