This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bid professional to join the bid team of STRI Group. We are a multi-disciplinary Group bringing together specialist consultancies, construction and delivery expertise, and research capabilities across sports infrastructure and environmental design. Our projects range from major international stadia to local sports, community and environmental initiatives. STRI Group has grown significantly in recent years, and the expansion of the Group bid function is intended to further that growth.
The role would suit someone who enjoys variety and wants to work across a diverse portfolio of companies and service offerings, responding to tenders in both the UK and international markets. You will lead the development, coordination and submission of high-quality bids, tenders and RFP responses, improving consistency, quality and win rates while enabling technical and operational teams to focus on delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Lead end-to-end bid, tender and RFP programmes across the Group, from opportunity qualification and bid planning through to submission.
- Develop clear bid strategies, win themes, response plans and compliant submission structures aligned with client requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Coordinate technical, operational and commercial contributors, setting clear responsibilities, review stages and deadlines.
- Write, edit and tailor compelling proposal content, including executive summaries, methodologies, project approaches, quality and social value responses, and company information.
- Manage governance, quality assurance and internal approvals to ensure every submission is accurate, consistent, persuasive and fully compliant.
- Coordinate pricing, fee and commercial inputs with relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the overall bid strategy.
- Own final production and submission activity, working with the Bid Coordinator to deliver complete, approved responses on time.
- Maintain and improve bid templates, content libraries, case studies, project references and capability statements, embedding lessons learned and consistent best practice across the Group.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
ESSENTIAL
- Proven experience as a Bid Manager, Senior Bid Writer, Proposal Manager or similar tender management professional.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex bids and leading submission programmes from inception to completion.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple contributors and stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience implementing bid management processes, governance and quality assurance procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities and stakeholders.
- Minimum of three years’ relevant experience.
DESIRABLE
- Experience managing competitive tenders and RFP submissions.
- Excellent Writing, editing and communication skills.
- Experience in consultancy, professional services, construction or related sectors.
- Adobe InDesign capability.
- Knowledge of sports and/or water sectors.
