We are looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Literacy Interventions) to support pupils in KS3 and KS4 within the SEND department to ensure that every child succeeds. Promoting self‑esteem, encouraging pupils to act independently and supporting academic and personal development are all vital to this role. Successful candidates will need to have high expectations of all pupils’ attainment and behaviour, be enthusiastic about students’ learning, be determined to get the best out of each student and be willing to immerse themselves in all aspects of school life.

If you have a passion for Interventions, possess a TA3 qualification, have excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal) and enjoy working with young people, then this role is for you. A GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Maths is essential for all TA posts.

Key Duties:

  • Be willing to undertake training for the variety of Interventions we utilise.
  • Lead Literacy and revision interventions for KS3 and KS4.
  • Analyse data as requested.
  • Hold accurate attendance and attainment records.
  • Attend meetings with AHT responsible for interventions.
  • Attend meetings with the SEND and English departments to liaise with teachers as required.
  • Have relevant subject knowledge of Literature texts and English Language specification/requirements – desirable.

Qualifications:

  • TA3 qualification.
  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Maths.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Passion for interventions and willingness to immerse oneself in all aspects of school life.
