Salary: Band 1 (£24,413 to £24,796) (actual salary: £21,536)

Working Pattern: Term time, plus two weeks

Contract type: Full time 5 days per week, 36.25 hours per week

Start date: as soon as possible

Closing date: 9am Wednesday 25th February 2026

Interview Date: Thursday 5th March 2026

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to teaching staff within the PE department with the day-to-day running of lessons and PE activities.
  • Promote self-esteem, encourage pupils to act independently, and support academic and personal development.
  • Ensure high expectations of pupils’ attainment and behaviour and be willing to immerse yourself in all aspects of school life.
  • Assist with the management of equipment and resources to support PE lessons and school activities.

Qualifications and experience:

  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Maths is essential for this post.
  • A qualification in coaching is advantageous.
  • Strong interest in physical activity/sport.

Other requirements and expectations:

  • Candidates must be available to work 8:15 am to 4:00 pm (with a 30 minute unpaid break). Some flexibility will be required.
  • Successful candidates will have high expectations of all pupils’ attainment and behaviour and be willing to immerse themselves in all aspects of school life.
  • Promoting self-esteem and supporting pupils’ academic and personal development are vital to this role.
