We are looking for an accomplished Tax Director for our expanding tax consultancy practice. The chosen candidate will lead in providing tax advisory services to our clients, overseeing planning, management, and compliance related to corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax.
You will play a key role in advising clients on tax implications, formulating strategic tax plans, and ensuring tax optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert tax consultancy for all aspects of clients’ tax operations, including compliance, reporting and planning
- Oversee the preparation of tax filings for corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax, ensuring compliance with UK tax laws and regulations
- Deliver expert advice on the tax implications of various business strategies, carry out tax risk assessments and ensure appropriate risk mitigation for clients
- Develop and implement efficient tax planning strategies, aiming to optimise tax positions and mitigate tax risks for clients
- Coordinate and support clients during tax audits by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
- Represent clients in liaising with HMRC and manage relationships with tax authorities on their behalf
- Assist clients in implementing and maintaining internal controls to support tax accounting and compliance
- Keep updated on changes in UK tax legislation and provide informed guidance on their impact to clients
- Work in collaboration with other team leaders to align tax strategies with clients’ business objectives
- Develop, mentor, and manage junior tax consultants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and client-focused service
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An ACCA, ACA, or CTA qualification is highly preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a tax consultancy role with a focus on corporation tax, income tax and capital gains tax, preferably within a leading accountancy firm
- Extensive knowledge of UK tax code, compliance and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client projects and meet deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax strategies to clients and internal teams
- High level of integrity, attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with tax software and accounting systems
