Job Purpose
To manage a portfolio of accountancy clients, with a strong focus on the bloodstock and racing sectors, delivering high-quality service and financial insight. This role combines technical expertise with a passion for the equine world, supporting clients ranging from stud farms and syndicates to racing yards and rural enterprises.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients, including racehorse trainers, breeders, and equestrian businesses, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
- Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, including those operating in racing, breeding, and equine services.
- Attend client meetings, often on-site at stud farms, training yards, or racecourses, to build strong relationships and provide tailored financial advice.
- Oversee and mentor junior team members, reviewing work and supporting their development.
- Prepare and review VAT returns, tax computations, and advisory schedules, with a focus on agricultural and equine tax planning.
