Could you support people to lead great lives? Come and join our amazing team. We’re excited to offer a £250 welcome bonus to new Support Workers who join us on a minimum 21-hour contract. Become part of a supportive, rewarding workplace — and once you successfully complete your probationary period your £250 bonus will be paid to you as a thank you for choosing to work for us. We are a charitable organisation based in the Scottish Borders. We provide care and support to adults to lead great lives. Most of the people we currently support have learning disabilities or mental health problems. Our team help people to live an independent and fulfilling life in the local community.

We require Support Workers in our Duns/East Berwickshire service and while some experience would be an advantage, we are equally keen to support people to develop the skills required. All training will be provided. Willingness to undertake an SVQ qualification is necessary and if you have a strong value base, enthusiasm, commitment, a good sense of humour plus the ability to work with people with a disability in a positive, honest manner then we would like to hear from you. Some of the people you will support have their own cars, therefore to enable them to enjoy the wider community a valid driving licence would be an advantage. We are an accredited Disability Confident organisation and we encourage applications from all members of the community.

About the role

You will provide support to people to live safely and as independently as possible in their own home and in the community. Support people to achieve personal growth and meet their full potential. Provide guidance and practical help in all aspects of day-to-day living, e.g. assisting with budgeting, cooking and cleaning. Support with personal care and mobility, whilst promoting self-esteem, independence, dignity and respect. Support people to participate in their hobbies and interests and to be active in the community.

Any offer of employment will be conditional on a satisfactory Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check and two satisfactory references.

We want your work to fit in with your lives; full time, part time and relief posts are available for day and night time working. We can consider weekend-only availability too. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship at the time. Salary due to be reviewed by 1 April 2026.
