The Opportunity

We’re working with a leading fit-out contractor delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical packages across commercial projects, including major contracts with banks and supermarket clients. With an annual turnover of circa £200 million and projects typically up to £1 million in value, they are looking to appoint a Junior M&E Estimator to join their growing pre‑construction team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the early stages of their estimating career looking to develop within a well‑established business offering structure, support, and clear progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of mechanical and electrical estimates
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Supporting take-offs and cost planning
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
  • Assisting with tender submissions and documentation
  • Supporting value engineering exercises
  • Working closely with senior estimators and the wider pre‑construction team

Requirements

  • Some experience within M&E estimating or a building services environment
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Keen interest in developing a career within estimating
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (desirable)
