Streamline Recruitment are working in partnership with a fantastic long‑term client who is looking to grow their team. They are seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Technician / Fleet Maintenance Engineer to join their busy operation. You will be responsible for the maintenance and inspection of a fleet of HGV trailers and vehicles, ensuring all work meets legal standards and vehicles remain safe and reliable for daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and service HGV vehicles to required safety standards.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
- Source and order replacement parts as needed.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out repairs promptly.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Conduct routine servicing, including brakes, gearbox, and clutch.
- Ensure all work meets high‑quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
- Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good condition.
- Follow health and safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment.
Essential Experience
- Heavy vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.
- Previous experience in a busy HGV workshop environment.
Hours
Rotating shift pattern covering Monday – Sunday (42 hours/week): Early: 6am – 3pm, Days: 7am – 4pm, Lates: 9pm – 6pm.
Salary & Benefits
£51,040 per annum + overtime. Overtime Monday – Saturday at time & a half, Overtime Sunday at double time. 25 days holiday per annum.
