Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting for a fantastic client in Port Clarance for a Transport Operations Manager to oversee the Northern transport team within the industrial chemicals sector. You will be based in Port Clarence, with responsibility for additional sites including Hebburn, and occasional visits to Widnes and Selby. It's a hands-on management position focused on compliance, performance, and maintaining high service standards across a multi-site operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and supporting a team of Transport Supervisors.
  • Overseeing delivery planning, ensuring accuracy for payroll and subcontractor costs.
  • Maintaining full compliance with Driver's Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Monitoring driver performance and fleet utilisation using systems such as Microlise.
  • Managing subcontractor performance and escalating issues where required.
  • Producing weekly KPI reports.
  • Overseeing fuel management processes.
  • Leading incident investigations and disciplinary processes where necessary.
  • Ensuring accurate reporting across systems including PRIME.
  • Supporting daily operational planning across multiple sites.
  • Assisting with system implementations including Feemster and Microlise App.

Qualifications:

  • Transport Manager CPC (essential).
  • Tanker experience ideally DGSA and/or ADR knowledge ideally.
  • Strong transport planning experience.
  • Proven experience managing teams within a transport operation.
  • Good understanding of compliance and transport legislation.

What's on offer:

  • £48,112 salary.
  • £8,000 car allowance.
  • Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00.
