Our client is a well-established and growing logistics business looking to recruit an Import Operations Trainee to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a school or college leaver looking to begin a long-term career within the shipping and logistics industry. Full training will be provided, so no previous experience is required.

The Role

  • Using industry-specific operating systems and assisting with shipment bookings
  • Learning the fundamentals of shipping, freight forwarding and logistics
  • Communicating with customers and overseas agents
  • Preparing customer quotations
  • Arranging deliveries through internal transport networks and third-party providers
  • Supporting the operations team with administrative duties
  • Developing customer service and commercial awareness skills

About You

  • Is confident using Microsoft Outlook, including emails and attachments.
  • Has a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Has strong written and spoken English skills
  • Has a professional telephone manner
  • Is organised and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Has good attendance and timekeeping
  • Is eager to learn and develop a long-term career within logistics
