We're looking for an experienced Production Planner to join a specialist manufacturing business based in Rugby. Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer producing bespoke, high-quality equipment for a range of industries.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled production team where organisation, planning, and attention to detail are essential to ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards.

What's on offer:

  • Hours: Monday to Friday (8:00 - 16:30)
  • Holidays: 20 days + 8 bank holidays

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to support customer demand and ensure manufacturing targets are achieved.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of builds.
  • Monitor material availability and stock levels, working closely with procurement to ensure components are available when required.
  • Plan and prioritise manufacturing activities to maximise efficiency and minimise delays.
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding production progress, delivery timescales, and any potential issues.
  • Prepare production reports, analyse performance data, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.
  • Liaise with engineering and production teams regarding equipment maintenance requirements and machine servicing.
  • Maintain accurate production records using internal planning systems.

About you:

  • Proven experience working as a Production Planner / Production Scheduler / Manufacturing Planner within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience working within a production, fabrication, assembly, or specialist manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with production, engineering, and purchasing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, identify trends, and implement improvements.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, or production planning systems is desirable.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and lean principles would be beneficial.
