Quantity Surveyor Our client are an established construction and building services contractor operating across the North West and surrounding regions. They deliver a variety of public and private sector projects, across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, leisure and retail, supported by their own in-house trades and manufacturing facilities. You will manage budgets, prepare contracts, and oversee subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Providing commercial advice and accurate financial reporting, you\’ll work closely with project teams and clients, attending site meetings and ensuring compliance throughout. What\’s in it for you? Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00, with an early finish at 16:30 on Fridays. Office-based role with site visits required as needed; all sites are within a reasonable distance from the office. Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience. Car allowance. 24 days annual leave + bank holidays. Loyalty scheme. Private healthcare. Pension.Key Responsibilities Manage project budgets and prepare tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify savings and optimise project costs. Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including tender evaluation, negotiation, and ongoing performance monitoring. Prepare and process valuations, variations, and final accounts in coordination with site and project teams. Maintain comprehensive commercial records and produce regular financial and progress reports. Support project teams with commercial and contractual advice throughout the construction lifecycle. Attend site meetings and liaise with clients, subcontractors, and consultants professionally. Ensure compliance with company policies, construction contracts, statutory regulations, and health and safety requirements.Role Requirements 4 to 5 years post-qualified experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment (essential). Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline. Strong knowledge of JCT contracts, procurement processes, and construction commercial management. Experience in costing, tendering, subcontractor management, and financial reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) and relevant construction software. Excellent numerical, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines under pressure.
