CNC Miller - Programmer, Setter, Operator

We're looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join a specialist precision engineering business.

Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer producing high-quality, precision components for a range of demanding industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery, working to tight tolerances and ensuring components are manufactured to the required standards.

What's on offer

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 DOE Hours: Monday to Thursday (7:00 - 16:00) & Friday (7:00 - 12:00)Key responsibilities

Program, set and operate Mazak CNC machining centres to manufacture precision components.

Read and interpret detailed customer engineering drawings and specifications.

Determine the most effective milling methods and machining processes for each component.

Write and edit Mazak and ISO CNC programmes.

Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts and machining conditions.

Carry out first-off inspections to ensure components meet the required specification before production runs.

Create, store and maintain CNC programmes.

Review works orders and work instructions to ensure machining requirements are fully understood.

Monitor production quality and ensure components consistently meet required standards.

Work to agreed production and run times while maintaining high levels of quality.

Work closely with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve machining methods, efficiency and quality.

Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

Work in accordance with company procedures and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.

About you

Strong experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.

Experience with Mazak CNC machinery is highly desirable.

Experience working with CNC machining centres and multi-axis milling machinery.

Experience working from detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.

Good understanding of metal cutting processes, milling tooling and machining conditions.

Experience working within a quality-controlled manufacturing environment, ideally to ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality components.

Able to consistently meet required production set-up and run times.

A positive, hands-on 'can do, will do' attitude.
