We're looking for an experienced CNC Grinder to join a specialist precision engineering business. Our client is a well-established engineering company manufacturing small, high-precision components for a range of demanding industries, including aerospace, oil & gas, motorsport and nuclear.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC grinding machinery, working to tight tolerances and ensuring components are manufactured to the highest standards.
What's on offer:
- Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 DOE
- Hours: Monday to Thursday (7:00 - 16:00) & Friday (7:00 - 12:00)
Key responsibilities:
- Program, set and operate CNC grinding machines to manufacture precision components.
- Read and interpret detailed customer engineering drawings and specifications.
- Determine the most effective grinding methods and processes for each component.
- Carry out first-off inspections to ensure components meet the required specification before production runs.
- Create, store and maintain CNC programmes.
- Review works orders and work instructions to ensure machining requirements are fully understood.
- Monitor production quality and ensure components consistently meet required standards.
- Work to agreed production and run times while maintaining high levels of quality.
- Work closely with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve production methods, efficiency and quality.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
About you:
- Proven experience working as a CNC Grinder (programming, setting & operating).
- Experience working from detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Experience working within a quality-controlled manufacturing environment, ideally to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality components.
