Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Group Purchasing to lead the procurement function across the business, managing supplier relationships, supporting project delivery and ensuring the best possible commercial value is achieved. Head of Purchasing - Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the Group purchasing function, including managing and supporting the Buyer. Manage the procurement of materials, goods and services across the Group, ensuring competitive pricing, quality and availability. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manage supplier performance. Work closely with pre-construction teams on tenders, procurement and value engineering opportunities. Issue enquiry packages, obtain and evaluate quotations and place orders for Group companies. Liaise with site teams to coordinate and programme deliveries and expedite orders where required. Monitor market conditions, supply and demand and potential risks to project programmes. Maintain accurate procurement records, cost comparisons and order information using Excel. Resolve purchasing and invoice queries and provide regular updates to senior management and the Group Board. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the procurement function and ensure company procedures and QEMS requirements are followed.Head of Purchasing - Position Requirements Proven experience within purchasing, procurement or buying, ideally within construction or building services. Previous experience managing or developing procurement/buying staff. Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and numerical skills. Experience managing suppliers and evaluating quotations. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Strong attention to detail with a practical, commercially minded approach. Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines. Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
