Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing electrical contractor delivering commercial and domestic projects across London and the surrounding areas.

With a strong reputation for technical expertise, safety and high-quality service, they are continuing to expand their electrical operations.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Technical Manager to take ownership of the technical, quality and design standards across their electrical works, while providing technical leadership and support to their delivery teams.

  • Electrical Technical Manager - Position Overview
  • Act as the company's Lead Qualifying Supervisor, taking responsibility for the technical supervision and compliance of electrical works.
  • Oversee and, where required, produce electrical design work including load calculations, cable sizing, distribution design and material specifications.
  • Ensure all electrical installation, testing and inspection works comply with BS 7671, Building Regulations Part P and relevant project specifications.
  • Lead and manage electrical site teams, supervisors and apprentices, providing technical direction, mentoring and support.
  • Carry out regular site audits and inspections, identifying non-conformities and driving improvements in quality and workmanship.
  • Maintain and develop the company's electrical accreditation, liaising with scheme assessors and supporting audits and renewals.
  • Provide technical support to project managers and estimators during tendering, design development and project delivery.
  • Review risk assessments, method statements and site-specific technical documentation.
  • Act as the technical point of escalation for clients, consultants and subcontractors regarding design, compliance and technical issues.
  • Electrical Technical Manager - Position Requirements
  • Proven experience acting as a Qualifying Supervisor with NICEIC or NAPIT, ideally with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • 2391/#removed# Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable electrical design experience, including distribution design, load calculations and cable sizing.
  • Proven experience managing and developing electrical teams, including supervisors and apprentices.
  • Strong working knowledge of BS 7671, Building Regulations Part P and relevant industry standards.
  • CSCS card.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification, or willingness to obtain this when joining.
  • Experience within commercial, domestic, fit-out, new-build or refurbishment electrical projects.
  • Strong technical, leadership and communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable: Experience using electrical design software such as Auto CAD, Amtech, Electrical OM or similar. Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management processes.
