Buying And Procurement Manager Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday Holiday: 38 Days incl. As the procurement and buying manager, you'll be responsible for leading a team of Buyers and managing the procurement of roofing and cladding materials, plant, equipment and services, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and the timely delivery of all project requirements. You'll work closely with Project Managers, the Design Team and suppliers to coordinate procurement schedules, negotiate favourable commercial terms, maintain supply chain performance and resolve delivery or quality issues. You'll be monitoring material costs, oversees purchase records, ensures compliance with ISO standards and drives efficient procurement processes to keep projects on programme and within budget. Manage and lead a team of three Buyers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective procurement operations. Procure roofing and cladding materials, goods and services to meet business and project requirements. Negotiate competitive pricing and commercial terms to achieve best value for the business. Work closely with Project Managers, the Design Team and Procurement Manager to coordinate procurement activities. Build, maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain. Manage the procurement of long lead-time items alongside urgent site demands to prevent project delays. Monitor material costs, report price increases and maintain accurate procurement records and spreadsheets. Ensure the supply chain operates in line with company ISO standards and quality procedures. Process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchase ledger records. Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, reduce costs and enhance supply chain performance.Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills to optimise pricing and commercial terms. Ability to forward plan across multiple site projects, managing priorities between long-lead requirements and immediate demands. Ability to undertake material take-offs (training will be provided). Experience and/or education in procurement and inventory management. Competent using computer software including word processing, email, and spreadsheet applications. A full driving licence is essential, due to limited public transport access to the office. Previous roofing, cladding, or construction experience preferred (full training available). Ability to read and interpret project drawings and technical specifications.Regular working hours, with generous annual leave allowance. Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience.
