Our client is a growing mechanical contractor based in London, delivering full design and build solutions across a wide range of mechanical services, with the majority of projects located locally in and around Central London. With a large and ever-growing forward order book, they are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team. This is an office-based role, with client visits required as and when needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of competitive and accurate cost estimates for mechanical building services packages
- Carry out detailed take‑offs from drawings, specifications, and design information
- Support pre‑construction activities including cost planning, budget development, and tender strategy
- Work closely with design engineers, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and validate assumptions
- Review designs and offer constructive input on buildability, value engineering and costing optimisation
- Produce tender documentation and ensure timely submission against procurement deadlines
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and elevate appropriately
- Participate in tender meetings and, where required, client presentations
- Handover awarded projects to delivery teams with clear scope, price breakdowns and risk notes
Role Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator in a mechanical contractor or consulting engineering environment
- Solid experience in pre‑construction and cost estimating for mechanical building systems
- Comfortable interpreting mechanical design information and technical drawings
- Evidence of collaboration with engineering/design teams on tendered projects
- Competent in estimating software and advanced Excel skills
- Revit/BIM experience or exposure is highly desirable
- Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and analytical ability
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and priorities under pressure
