Our client is an established UK and international haulage company, operating a modern fleet of HGVs and trailers from a busy in-house workshop. We are looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join their workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing the company fleet, alongside supporting external third-party vehicles.
Package:
- Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm / 10am-7pm rotating shifts
- Every other Saturday, 7am-2pm
- £40,000 - £50,000 DOE
- Overtime available

Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs and trailers
- Complete servicing, repairs and general mechanical maintenance
- Carry out mechanical and electrical diagnostics and fault-finding
- Prepare vehicles to the required standard for MOT testing
- Identify and rectify faults efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
- Complete all required maintenance records, paperwork and job sheets
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company safety and compliance standards
- Work independently while supporting the wider workshop team
Requirements:
- Qualified HGV Technician/Mechanic with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Applicants without formal qualifications will be considered with a proven track record of relevant professional experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working on HGVs and trailers
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in diagnostics and fault-finding
- Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Class 1 (CE) or Class 2 (C) HGV Licence preferred but not essential
