My client is a well-established shipping business, specialising in the shipments of chilled, frozen, and dry goods. They provide cargo transportation from pick up to the final destination by combining movement of cargo from port to port on liner vessels, along with inland transportation and cooperation with trusted logistic partners. Due to ongoing success, they are now looking to expand their team with a new Customs Coordinator completing both Imports and/or Exports.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and be able to work within a team to achieve team objectives, whilst also still being able to reach individual targets.
Position Overview- Creating customer files using information from SAP.
- Customs clearance using Descartes/Chief.
- SAP IT system for bookings/quotations.
- Arranging delivery of cargo through third party hauliers.
- Arranging collection of cargo from our terminal/warehouse.
- Passing supplier invoices.
- Obtaining rates from suppliers to create quotations.
- Producing discharge lists for terminals.
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
- Shipping Customs Clearance Knowledge (preferred but not essential).
- High standard of accuracy, attention to detail with good arithmetic skills.
- High standard of Customer Service skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated and logical, with the ability to use initiative to manage time effectively.
- To demonstrate a positive attitude, with the ability to adapt and problem solve with an optimistic outlook.
Salary £26,000 - £30,000 (Based on experience). Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. 28 days holiday, including bank holidays. Pension Scheme. Parking on site.
