Our client is a growing and ambitious logistics and freight solutions provider based at the heart of the UK's largest transport hub - London Heathrow. Known for delivering tailored freight, supply chain and specialist transport services, they pride themselves on building long-term partnerships with customers through reliability, innovation and outstanding service. As part of their continued expansion, our client is now looking to appoint a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager to play a key role in accelerating growth and strengthening their presence within the logistics and freight forwarding markets. The Role
- Identifying new opportunities, winning new clients and driving revenue growth by understanding customer challenges and delivering tailored freight and supply chain solutions.
- Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure that every new account is onboarded seamlessly and supported to the highest standard.
- Proactively identifying, qualifying and pursuing new business opportunities through outreach, networking and market research.
- Developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Meeting prospective clients to understand their logistics needs and present tailored solutions.
- Preparing and delivering persuasive sales pitches, proposals and quotations.
- Negotiating contracts, pricing and commercial terms to secure new business.
- Planning and managing weekly sales activity in line with business objectives.
- Collaborating closely with Operations, Finance and Customer Service teams to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Maintaining a strong sales pipeline and reporting on performance, opportunities and market intelligence.
- Staying up to date with industry trends, competitor activity and market conditions.
- Building long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Using social media and digital platforms to support marketing campaigns and generate new opportunities.
Position Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Business Development role, with proven success winning new clients and growing accounts.
- Strong background within logistics, freight forwarding or 3PL environments.
- A tenacious, "hunter" mentality with the drive to consistently exceed targets.
- Experience within freight forwarding, AOG, same-day or next-day logistics (highly advantageous).
- A solid understanding of logistics and supply chain solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing abilities.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple opportunities effectively.
- Entrepreneurial mindset focused on revenue and profitability.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a team.

Position Remuneration
- 38k - 40k dependant on experience (also bonus - details can be provided at interview stage).
- Mon to Fri - 9am to 6pm / 1-hour unpaid break / Contractual 40 hours per week.
- 25 days plus bank holidays.
- Notice period: 4 weeks (after probation).
- Auto enrolment pension.
