About the Role:

On behalf of our client, a well-established and reputable civil engineering contractor, we are currently seeking an experienced Project Planner to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive planning professional with a solid background in civil engineering and proven proficiency in Primavera P6.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and manage detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 across all project phases.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and delivery teams to ensure programme accuracy and alignment with site progress.
  • Produce baseline programmes, progress updates, and look-ahead schedules.
  • Identify critical path activities and support mitigation planning where delays or risks are identified.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and clients to incorporate third-party inputs into the overall programme.
  • Prepare planning documentation for tender submissions and ongoing project reporting.
  • Ensure programmes are fully resourced and cost-loaded as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Proven experience in a planning role within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
  • Familiarity with NEC and/or other forms of construction contracts.
  • Degree-qualified in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience with other planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Asta Powerproject).
  • Background in sectors such as highways, rail, utilities, or major infrastructure.
