Job Description
CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator - Lathes & Machining Centres We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer Setter Operator to join a specialist precision engineering business.
Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer producing high-quality, precision components for a range of demanding industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes and/or machining centres, working to tight tolerances and ensuring components are manufactured to the required standards.
What's on offer
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 DOEHours: Monday to Thursday (7:00 - 16:00) & Friday (7:00 - 12:00)Key responsibilities Program, set and operate Mazak CNC driven-tool lathes, machining centres, or both.
Determine the most effective machining methods and processes for each component.
Write and edit Mazak and ISO CNC programmes.
Select appropriate tooling, cutting inserts and machining conditions.
Carry out first-off inspections to ensure components meet the required specification before production runs.
Create, store and maintain CNC programmes.
Review works orders and work instructions to ensure machining requirements are fully understood.
Monitor production quality and ensure components consistently meet required standards.
Work to agreed production and run times while maintaining high levels of quality.
Work closely with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve production methods, efficiency and quality.
Work in accordance with company procedures and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.
About you Strong experience programming, setting and operating CNC machine tools.
Experience with Mazak CNC machinery is highly desirable.
Experience working with CNC lathes, machining centres, or both.
Experience working from detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
Good understanding of metal cutting processes, tooling and machining conditions.
Experience working within a quality-controlled manufacturing environment, ideally to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality components.
Able to consistently meet required production set-up and run times.
