Location: Leeds, Yorkshire

Salary: GBP45,000 to GBP55,000 Dependent on experience

Hours: 8.30 to 5.30, Monday to Friday

Holiday: 28 Days (incl. Bank holidays)

Overview

Our client is a well–established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and public realm works across Cumbria and the Northwest. Due to an increasing workload, they are looking to appoint an experienced Health and Safety Manager to deliver full SHEQ functions across their projects. You will play a key role in carrying out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks, supporting Operations Managers, Project managers and Supervisors to maintain standards and assist in resolving issues quickly.

Position Requirements

  • Design, delivery, and management of Health and Safety functions across all projects
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with managers, operatives, and clients, providing practical, actionable support and advice to managers and site teams
  • Ensure all reporting is accurate and completed in a timely manner, encourage staff to report hazards, Near Misses and raise health and safety concerns for resolution
  • Verify compliance with statutory requirements, method statements, risk assessments, and environmental controls

  • Experience in a SHEQ or Quality Manager role within civil engineering or construction.
